On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, InOut Labs’ founder Tim Thoelecke Jr presented “Drug Testing 101 — Facts and Myths” to a room full of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) professionals. The event took place at the Chicagoland Health, Safety, and Environmental Conference at Northern Illinois University in Naperville, Illinois.
The engaged audience had many questions about post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing. They also sought guidance on dealing with legalized marijuana and workplace safety.
“Employers are expected—REQUIRED—to provide a safe place to work,” stated Thoelecke. “A drug-free workplace is a safer workplace, and drug testing is a critical tool for that.”
The informative session covered several key topics. These included why employers drug test, how drug testing works, regulated vs. non-regulated testing, legalized marijuana, and protecting employee privacy.
